Summers-McCann Inc., a premier wine country public relations firm, represents an array of businesses with a focus on food, wine, art, tourism, hospitality, and destination marketing. The firm has developed successful promotions and press campaigns for more than 120 clients, representing a wide range of organizations and businesses, from small companies to large corporations and projects.

American Express, Deerfield Ranch Winery, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Salsa Trading Company, Silverado Resort, Ventana Inn & Spa, and Visa USA, and are among the companies Summers-McCann has assisted. The Summers-McCann team created The Napa Valley Mustard Festival, one of the countries leading agricultural/tourism promotions, in 1994; and Sonoma Salute to the Arts, the event that set a new standard for wine country events, in 1986.

Pat Summers established Summers-McCann, Inc. Public Relations in 1985 after operating a freelance public relations business for two years. She conceived Sonoma's annual Salute to the Arts in 1985. Summers-McCann was selected to develop, coordinate, and promote the Napa Valley Mustard Festival in 1993. A two-month winter/early spring promotion, the Festival was designed to attract visitors to Napa Valley during the shoulder season. Recognized as one of the most successful agricultural/tourism promotions in the United States, the Festival virtually created a new visitor season.

Visa contracted with Summers-McCann to develop and produce a Wine Country Destination Program in conjunction with premier wine country events in 1995. The latest contiguous program was completed in December of 2003. American Express contracted with Summers-McCann in the fall of 2005 to coordinate a merchant program and VIP Card Member events in conjunction with the 13th annual Napa Valley Mustard Festival. The most recent program was completed in March 2007. In recognition of excellence in tourism management, the County of Napa awarded The Napa Valley Mustard Festival a grant in the amount of $100,000 per year for three years to produce a mid-week hospitality program, from 2008 through 2010.

Pat attributes her company's success to excellent marketing, promotion and media relations. Summers-McCann has powerful regional relationships; local, regional, and national press connections; and a flair for fostering unique concepts and implementing effective programs. The company's creative core, along with diligence and attention to detail, promises press kits, print materials and promotions that stand out. The results are impressive: press coverage often exceeds expectations.

Summers-McCann, looks forward to continuing implementation and management of destination marketing and promotional programs for local, regional, and national businesses and organizations.
